HOW INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION GIVES IMPACT TO THE EMPLOYEES’ PERFORMANCE AT BAPPELITBANGDA OF SOUTH SULAWESI

The aim of this research is to find out the effects of interpersonal communication towards the employees’ performance and the language use in terms of functions expressed in realizing the two components, interpersonal communication and performance, at BAPPELITBANGDA of South Sulawesi. The research method used a mixed method with concurrent triangulation model design. The sampling technique in this research was saturated with a total sample of 123 employees at BAPPELITBANGDA. The analytical methods used are simple linear analysis, coefficient of determination, partial hypothesis test (t test), and qualitative data analysis. The results of this research show that there is a positive and significant effect of interpersonal communication on employee performance. This is proven by the results of the simple linear regression test, namely 0.453 (positive), the coefficient of determination test results of 37.5% with a correlation coefficient of 0.612 (strong), and the t-test results showing a sig value. <0.005. The results of this research also show that there are four language functions that influence interpersonal communication on the employees’ performance at Bappelitbagda, namely interactional, regulatory, personal, and heuristic.
